Many people have expressed their minds to define creativity. Having creativity in a person is considered good and seen as an added advantage for a person. It can be better understood as a gift that provides a different way to get happiness and enjoyment. According to a dictionary definition, “creativity is the ability to create and is characterized by originality and expressiveness.” Different people have different views on creativity. Here, we’ll be discussing three main myths about creativity:
Creativity is an inborn quality of a person:
It is a general misconception that creativity is an inborn quality. Most people think that creativity cannot be developed, which is pretty wrong. In fact, anyone can develop his or her creative skills at any time. All you want is strong will and regular practice to achieve expertise in the interest of your choice. Also, you need to be imaginative to stimulate your creativity.
One has to be talented otherwise he/she is not creative:
Having talent is a good thing but if you don’t, there is no need to get depressed. You can always develop your skill to fulfill your desires. People who are not blessed with natural ability to do a particular task can always learn traits that can interest them. One can acquire needed skills through different ways including engaging a tutor, self-practicing and reading concerned information and practicing them hard. Once, you know acquire skills and knowledge, you are free to pursue your hobbies in desired manner.
Creativity begins in childhood:
Creativity is the ability to create and express thoughts in different manners. You can paint, sketch, writer, play and compose music, sing, dance, and do so much to show your ability to create. Usually, people believe that creativity starts in childhood and one cannot develop skills later in life. However, creativity is more of a choice that can be pursued at any time.
